Pakistan and Bangladesh Sign Landmark Agreement to Combat Drug Trafficking

پاکستان اور بنگلہ دیش نے منشیات کی اسمگلنگ اور غیر قانونی فروخت کی بیخ کنی کے لیے تعاون کی یادداشت پر دستخط کر دیے ہیں۔ اس معاہدے کا بنیادی مقصد خطے میں منشیات کے ناسور کو ختم کرنے کے لیے دونوں ممالک کے درمیان سیکورٹی اشتراک کو نئی بلندیوں پر لے جانا ہے۔
سرکاری تفصیلات کے مطابق، دونوں ممالک انٹیلی جنس معلومات کے تبادلے اور اسمگلنگ کے خلاف مشترکہ آپریشنز پر متفق ہوئے ہیں۔ اس سلسلے میں ایک سیکرٹری سطح کا مشترکہ ورکنگ گروپ بھی تشکیل دیا جائے گا جو طے شدہ امور پر عملدرآمد کو یقینی بنائے گا۔
ڈھاکہ میں ہونے والی ایک اہم ملاقات کے دوران، وفاقی وزیر داخلہ محسن نقوی نے اپنے بنگلہ دیشی ہم منصب سے بات چیت کی۔ انہوں نے بنگلہ دیش کو سیف سٹی پروجیکٹ میں تکنیکی معاونت فراہم کرنے کی پیشکش کی تاکہ جدید ٹیکنالوجی کے ذریعے شہری تحفظ کے نظام کو بہتر بنایا جا سکے۔
اس ملاقات میں دوطرفہ تعلقات، داخلی سلامتی اور سول آرمڈ فورسز کی پیشہ ورانہ تربیت کے شعبوں میں تعاون بڑھانے پر بھی اتفاق رائے پایا گیا۔ وفاقی وزیر نے بنگلہ دیشی وزیر داخلہ کو پاکستان کے سرکاری دورے کی باضابطہ دعوت بھی دی۔
English Translation
Pakistan and Bangladesh have officially signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in combating drug trafficking and the illegal movement of narcotics. This agreement marks a significant step toward strengthening security ties between the two nations to eradicate the menace of drugs in the region.
According to official details, both countries have agreed on joint initiatives and the exchange of real-time intelligence. Furthermore, a secretary-level Joint Working Group will be established to oversee and ensure the effective implementation of the anti-smuggling measures.
During a high-level meeting in Dhaka, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Bangladeshi counterpart and offered technical assistance for the implementation of a Safe City project, aimed at bolstering urban security through modern surveillance technology.
The discussions also covered a wide range of bilateral issues, including internal security and professional training programs for the Civil Armed Forces. Minister Naqvi extended a formal invitation to the Bangladeshi Interior Minister to visit Pakistan to further solidify diplomatic and security cooperation.
