Punjab to Launch Satellite Internet to Boost Digital Connectivity

Senator Anusha Rahman, a senior advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab and a leader of PML-N, has announced that the provincial government has decided to introduce satellite internet services to accelerate digital development.

Speaking at a leadership summit held at a private university in Lahore, she discussed blockchain technology and digital assets in detail.

Rahman stated that the government is prioritizing the provision of high-speed internet in remote and underdeveloped areas. Through satellite internet, connectivity will be ensured in rural regions, educational institutions, and healthcare centers.

She noted that while there is growing interest among the public in adopting modern technology, the lack of infrastructure remains a major barrier. To address this gap, a project titled "Connect the Unconnected" is being launched in Punjab.

She further added that satellite internet services will soon be officially launched at the government level, while the IT department continues to work on advanced digital connectivity initiatives.

Senator Anusha Rahman also revealed that the government aims to equip 6 million youth with modern digital skills and technologies over the next four years.
