Congo Virus High Alert Issued for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hospitals
Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health department has put hospitals on high alert for Congo virus (CCHF), urging strict infection control and public caution.
خیبر پختونخوا کے محکمہ صحت نے صوبے بھر کے اسپتالوں کو کانگو وائرس (CCHF) کے ممکنہ پھیلاؤ کے پیش نظر ہائی الرٹ پر رہنے کی ہدایت جاری کی ہے۔
عیدالاضحیٰ کی آمد کے پیش نظر جاری کردہ اس خصوصی ایڈوائزری میں طبی مراکز کو ہدایت دی گئی ہے کہ وہ وائرس کے مشتبہ مریضوں پر گہری نظر رکھیں اور ان کے نمونے فوری طور پر سرکاری لیبارٹریوں کو ارسال کریں۔ اسپتالوں میں انفیکشن کنٹرول کے پروٹوکولز پر سختی سے عمل درآمد یقینی بنانے کے ساتھ ساتھ ڈاکٹروں اور پیرا میڈیکل اسٹاف کو حفاظتی کٹس (PPEs) کے استعمال کا حکم دیا گیا ہے۔

English Translation
The Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has placed hospitals across the province on high alert due to the threat of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF). In a special advisory issued ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, medical facilities have been instructed to closely monitor suspected cases and promptly send samples to public health laboratories using secure triple-packaging methods. Healthcare workers are mandated to follow strict infection control protocols and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The general public, particularly cattle handlers and butchers, has been advised to exercise extreme caution when handling livestock. Experts warn that the virus can spread through tick bites or contact with the blood and bodily fluids of infected animals. Diagnostic services, including PCR and ELISA tests, have been fully activated to ensure timely detection and management.Related
