CTD Punjab Arrests 21 Terror Suspects in Province-Wide Operations
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested 21 suspected terrorists and recovered explosives during intelligence-based raids across various cities including Lahore and Multan.
پنجاب کے مختلف علاقوں میں دہشت گردی کے ممکنہ خطرات کو ناکام بناتے ہوئے کاؤنٹر ٹیررازم ڈیپارٹمنٹ (سی ٹی ڈی) نے 21 مشتبہ دہشت گردوں کو حراست میں لے لیا ہے۔ یہ گرفتاریاں خفیہ معلومات کی بنیاد پر کی گئی کارروائیوں کے نتیجے میں عمل میں آئیں۔
سی ٹی ڈی ترجمان کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ آپریشنز لاہور، ملتان، گوجرانوالہ، شیخوپورہ، خانیوال، میاں والی، ٹوبہ ٹیک سنگھ، گجرات، پاکپتن اور بہاولپور سمیت دیگر شہروں میں کیے گئے۔ گرفتار ملزمان مبینہ طور پر تخریب کاری کی منصوبہ بندی کر رہے تھے۔
چھاپوں کے دوران بھاری مقدار میں اسلحہ، بارودی مواد اور دیگر دھماکا خیز اشیاء برآمد کی گئی ہیں۔ سیکیورٹی حکام کے مطابق گرفتار افراد میں انتہائی خطرناک دہشت گرد بھی شامل ہیں۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق ایک آپریشن میں پیر شمس نامی مشتبہ دہشت گرد کو بارود سمیت پکڑا گیا، جبکہ ایک اور کارروائی میں کالعدم تنظیم بی ایل اے سے وابستہ عبداللطیف کو دھماکا خیز مواد کے ہمراہ گرفتار کیا گیا۔
تمام ملزمان کے خلاف قانونی کارروائی کا آغاز کر کے مقدمات درج کر لیے گئے ہیں اور مزید تفتیش کی جا رہی ہے۔ صوبے بھر میں سیکیورٹی کے انتظامات کو مزید سخت کر دیا گیا ہے۔
English Translation
The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has apprehended 21 suspected terrorists during intelligence-based operations conducted across the province, successfully thwarting potential terror plots.
According to a CTD spokesperson, these raids were carried out in several cities, including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Khanewal, Mianwali, Toba Tek Singh, Multan, Gujrat, Pakpattan, and Bahawalpur. The suspects were reportedly involved in planning subversive activities.
Significant quantities of explosive materials and weapons were recovered during the operations. Authorities confirmed that the detainees include high-profile and dangerous individuals linked to extremist networks.
Specific arrests include an individual identified as Pir Shams, caught with explosive material, and Abdul Latif, who is allegedly associated with the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and further investigations are currently underway. Meanwhile, security measures have been significantly bolstered throughout the province to maintain law and order.
