Karachi Weather Update: Humidity Pushes Heat Index to 39°C as Sindh Braces for Heatwave
Karachi remains hot and humid with temperatures feeling like 39°C due to high moisture levels. The Meteorological Department warns of a continuing heatwave in Sindh's central and upper districts.
کراچی میں آج بادلوں کی موجودگی اور سمندری ہواؤں کے باوجود موسم گرم اور مرطوب ہے، جس سے شہریوں کو حبس کا سامنا ہے۔
محکمہ موسمیات کے ریکارڈ کے مطابق آج علی الصبح کم سے کم درجہ حرارت 28 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ تھا، تاہم اب پارہ 34 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ تک پہنچ گیا ہے۔
فضا میں 40 فیصد نمی کے باعث گرمی کی اصل شدت 39 ڈگری محسوس کی جا رہی ہے۔ اس وقت جنوب مغربی سمت سے 22 کلومیٹر فی گھنٹہ کی رفتار سے ہوائیں چل رہی ہیں، جبکہ آج زیادہ سے زیادہ درجہ حرارت 36 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ تک رہنے کی توقع ہے۔
موسمیاتی ماہرین کا کہنا ہے کہ نمی کے زیادہ تناسب کی وجہ سے تپش زیادہ محسوس ہو رہی ہے۔ دوسری جانب محکمہ موسمیات نے الرٹ جاری کیا ہے کہ سندھ کے وسطی اور بالائی اضلاع میں آئندہ دو روز تک ہیٹ ویو کا اثر برقرار رہے گا۔

Karachi is experiencing partly cloudy skies and coastal winds today, yet the weather remains hot and humid. The city continues to grapple with oppressive humidity despite the presence of sea breezes.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature recorded this morning was 28°C, but the mercury has already climbed to 34°C as the day progresses.
With humidity levels at 40%, the "feel-like" temperature is being perceived as 39°C. Currently, southwesterly winds are blowing at 22 km/h, and the maximum temperature is projected to hit 36°C today.
Meteorological experts suggest that the high moisture content in the air is responsible for the intensified heat sensation. Meanwhile, the PMD has issued a warning that a heatwave is expected to persist across the upper and central districts of Sindh for the next 48 hours.
