Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry held a strategic meeting with a delegation of terminal operators to discuss comprehensive reforms in the port sector, investment promotion, and the advancement of the Blue Economy.

During the meeting, the Minister assured the delegation of business security and emphasized that modernizing the port infrastructure remains a top government priority. He stated that consistent steps are being taken to provide a favorable investment climate and improve facilities within the maritime sector.

The terminal operators requested a simplified taxation system, proposing a move toward single-digit tax rates. They also urged the government to formally grant industry status to port services to enhance operational efficiency.

Minister Chaudhry highlighted progress on the state-of-the-art 'Energy City' project designed for energy storage, assuring investors of full facilitation. He also announced the upcoming launch of a multi-purpose terminal at Port Qasim, inviting the trading community to participate in the project.
