Pakistan’s opening pair has commenced the first innings with a cautious approach in response to Bangladesh’s total of 413 in the opening Test match at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.
Bangladesh was bowled out for 413 runs in their first innings. Following this, Pakistan’s opening duo, featuring the experienced Imam-ul-Haq and debutant Azaan Awais, took to the crease to lead the reply. By the end of 15 overs, the visitors were maintaining a steady and composed rhythm.
Earlier on Day 2, Bangladesh resumed their innings from an overnight score of 301 for the loss of 4 wickets. However, a disciplined and lethal bowling attack from Pakistan ensured that the remaining wickets fell quickly, with the hosts adding only 112 runs to their total.
Mohammad Abbas was the standout performer for Pakistan, claiming a brilliant five-wicket haul to dismantle the opposition. Shaheen Shah Afridi provided strong support with 3 wickets, while Hasan Ali and Nauman Ali chipped in with one wicket each. Pakistan had earlier elected to bowl first after winning the toss.
