Pakistan Hosts First National Balance Bike Championship 2026 in Lahore
Pakistan Cycling Federation successfully held the first National Balance Bike Championship 2026 in Lahore, featuring young riders from across the country in a landmark grassroots cycling event.
پاکستان سائیکلنگ فیڈریشن نے ملک گیر ٹیلنٹ ہنٹ پروگرام کے تحت لاہور کے ایل ڈی اے اسپورٹس کمپلیکس ہاکی اسٹیڈیم، جوہر ٹاؤن میں پہلی نیشنل بیلنس بائیک چیمپئن شپ 2026 کا کامیاب انعقاد کیا۔
یہ تاریخی گراس روٹ سائیکلنگ ایونٹ میکڈونلڈز پاکستان کی سرپرستی میں منعقد ہوا، جبکہ ایرو سائیکلنگ، FASTB اور گولڈن اسپورٹس نے آرگنائزنگ پارٹنرز کے طور پر کردار ادا کیا۔ اس چیمپئن شپ نے ملک کے کم عمر ترین سائیکلسٹس کو مسابقتی پلیٹ فارم فراہم کرتے ہوئے پاکستان میں سائیکلنگ کے فروغ کی جانب ایک اہم پیش رفت کی۔
ایونٹ میں مجموعی طور پر نو ٹیموں نے شرکت کی جن میں پنجاب، سندھ، خیبرپختونخوا اور اسلام آباد کی نمائندہ ٹیموں کے ساتھ ساتھ ایل ڈی اے کلب، کڈیکل ماس کلب، رن اپ، او ایل اے کلب اور ٹوئسٹو کلب شامل تھے۔ مختلف تعلیمی اداروں کے بچوں نے بھی بڑی تعداد میں حصہ لے کر ایونٹ کو مزید رنگین بنایا۔
چیمپئن شپ میں 2 سے 11 سال تک کے بچوں کے لیے 11 مختلف کیٹیگریز رکھی گئیں، جس میں ملک بھر سے تقریباً 130 سے 140 نوجوان کھلاڑیوں نے اپنی صلاحیتوں کا مظاہرہ کیا۔ شرکاء نے بہترین کارکردگی، جذبے اور کھیلوں کی اعلیٰ اقدار کو اجاگر کیا۔
پاکستان سائیکلنگ فیڈریشن کے صدر سید اظہر علی شاہ نے کہا کہ یہ منصوبہ طویل عرصے سے زیرِ غور تھا اور اب عملی شکل اختیار کر چکا ہے۔ ان کے مطابق یہ اقدام نچلی سطح پر سائیکلنگ کے فروغ کے لیے نہایت اہم ہے اور وہ پاکستان میں اس کھیل کا روشن مستقبل دیکھ رہے ہیں۔
انہوں نے ایونٹ کی کامیابی میں کردار ادا کرنے والی تمام ٹیموں، اسکولوں، اسپانسرز، منتظمین، رضاکاروں اور خاندانوں کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ فیڈریشن ملک بھر میں سائیکلنگ کے ٹیلنٹ کو فروغ دینے اور اس کھیل کو مضبوط بنانے کے لیے پرعزم ہے۔

The Pakistan Cycling Federation successfully organized the first National Balance Bike Championship 2026 at the LDA Sports Complex Hockey Stadium, Johar Town, Lahore, under its nationwide talent hunt program.
This historic grassroots cycling event was proudly sponsored by McDonald’s Pakistan, while Aero Cycling, FASTB, and Golden Sports served as organizing partners. The championship marked a significant milestone in promoting cycling in Pakistan by providing a competitive platform for the country’s youngest riders.
A total of nine teams participated in the event, including provincial teams from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, along with LDA Club, Kidecal Mass Club, Run Up, OLA Club, and Twisto Club. The event also witnessed strong participation from various educational institutions.
The championship featured 11 categories for boys and girls aged between 2 and 11 years, with around 130 to 140 young participants from across Pakistan. The riders showcased impressive talent, determination, and sportsmanship, highlighting the growing future of grassroots cycling in the country.
Pakistan Cycling Federation President Syed Azhar Ali Shah stated that the initiative had been in development for a long time and has now materialized successfully. He said it is a highly positive step for promoting cycling at the grassroots level and expressed optimism about a bright future for the sport in Pakistan.
He also appreciated all participating teams, schools, sponsors, organizing partners, volunteers, and families for making the event a success, reiterating the federation’s commitment to strengthening grassroots cycling and nurturing future talent across the country.
