Tax Breakdown Revealed: Consumers Pay Over 129 Rupees Tax Per Liter of Petrol
Detailed data from the Ministry of Energy shows that taxes account for 32% of petrol prices and 21% of diesel prices, with various levies and duties totaling over 129 rupees per liter for petrol.
حکومت کی جانب سے پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں حالیہ ردوبدل کے بعد اب ایک لیٹر پیٹرول اور ڈیزل پر وصول کیے جانے والے ٹیکسوں کے اعداد و شمار منظرِ عام پر آگئے ہیں۔
وزارتِ توانائی کے ذرائع نے انکشاف کیا ہے کہ پیٹرول کی فی لیٹر قیمت کا 32 فیصد حصہ ٹیکسوں پر مشتمل ہے۔ صارفین ایک لیٹر پیٹرول پر مجموعی طور پر 129 روپے 72 پیسے ٹیکس ادا کر رہے ہیں، جس میں 103 روپے 50 پیسے پیٹرولیم لیوی، 23 روپے 72 پیسے کسٹم ڈیوٹی اور 2 روپے 50 پیسے کلائمیٹ سپورٹ لیوی کی مد میں شامل ہیں۔
اسی طرح، ڈیزل کی فی لیٹر قیمت میں ٹیکسوں کا تناسب 21 فیصد ریکارڈ کیا گیا ہے۔ ڈیزل پر عائد کل ٹیکس 82 روپے 81 پیسے بنتا ہے، جس کی تفصیلات کے مطابق 51 روپے 62 پیسے کسٹم ڈیوٹی، 28 روپے 69 پیسے لیوی اور 2 روپے 50 پیسے کلائمیٹ سپورٹ لیوی وصول کی جا رہی ہے۔

English Translation
Following the recent adjustment in petroleum product prices, detailed breakdowns of taxes levied on each liter of petrol and diesel have been released.
According to Ministry of Energy sources, taxes account for a staggering 32% of the price of one liter of petrol. Consumers are paying a total of 129.72 rupees in taxes per liter, which includes 103.50 rupees as petroleum levy, 23.72 rupees in customs duty, and a 2.50 rupee climate support levy.
Similarly, the tax component in the price of diesel stands at 21%. A total tax of 82.81 rupees is being charged per liter of diesel, comprising 51.62 rupees in customs duty, 28.69 rupees in petroleum levy, and a 2.50 rupee climate support levy.
The Ministry of Energy confirmed that these taxes constitute a significant portion of the overall retail prices of petroleum products.
