SECP Records Historic Surge with 4,082 New Companies Registered in April
Pakistan's corporate sector achieved a new milestone in April as the SECP registered a record-breaking 4,082 new companies, with significant investment coming from the IT sector and international shareholders.
سیکیورٹیز اینڈ ایکسچینج کمیشن آف پاکستان (ایس ای سی پی) نے ملک میں کارپوریٹ سیکٹر کی غیر معمولی نمو کی خبر دیتے ہوئے بتایا ہے کہ اپریل کے دوران 4,082 نئی کمپنیوں کی رجسٹریشن کے ساتھ ایک نیا ریکارڈ قائم ہو گیا ہے۔
اعداد و شمار کے مطابق، اس حالیہ اضافے کے بعد پاکستان میں رجسٹرڈ شدہ کمپنیوں کی مجموعی تعداد اب 2,94,101 تک پہنچ گئی ہے۔ اسی طرح، ایس ای سی پی نے ایک ہی دن میں سب سے زیادہ یعنی 340 کمپنیوں کی رجسٹریشن کا سنگِ میل بھی عبور کیا۔
بین الاقوامی دلچسپی کے حوالے سے بتایا گیا کہ دنیا کے 22 مختلف ممالک کے سرمایہ کاروں نے پاکستان میں اپنی کمپنیاں رجسٹر کروائیں، جن میں چین سے تعلق رکھنے والے 95 شیئر ہولڈرز سرفہرست رہے۔ صوبائی تقسیم میں پنجاب 2,093 نئی کمپنیوں کے ساتھ پہلے نمبر پر رہا، جبکہ اسلام آباد سے 719، سندھ سے 600، خیبرپختونخوا سے 325، گلگت بلتستان سے 276 اور بلوچستان سے 69 کمپنیاں رجسٹر ہوئیں۔
کاروباری شعبوں کی درجہ بندی میں آئی ٹی اور ای کامرس 832 کمپنیوں کے ساتھ سب سے زیادہ فعال نظر آئے، جبکہ تجارت، رئیل اسٹیٹ، تعمیرات اور سیاحت جیسے دیگر شعبوں میں بھی نمایاں سرمایہ کاری دیکھی گئی۔
ایس ای سی پی کے چیئرمین ڈاکٹر کبیر سدھو نے اس پیش رفت کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ کمپنی رجسٹریشن میں یہ تیزی ملکی معیشت کے دستاویزی ہونے اور شفافیت کی جانب ایک اہم قدم ہے۔
English Translation
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has announced a historic milestone in corporate growth, reporting the registration of 4,082 new companies during the month of April.
According to the commission, the total number of registered companies in the country has now reached 294,101. Additionally, a new record was established for the highest number of registrations in a single day, with 340 companies joining the corporate fold.
The data highlights significant global interest, as investors from 22 different countries registered companies in Pakistan, including 95 shareholders from China alone. Geographically, Punjab led the provinces with 2,093 new registrations, followed by Islamabad with 719, Sindh with 600, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 325, Gilgit-Baltistan with 276, and Balochistan with 69.
In terms of sector-wise performance, the IT and E-commerce sectors dominated the landscape with 832 new registrations. Other sectors showing notable activity included trading, services, real estate, construction, and tourism.
SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Sidhu hailed the surge in registrations as a positive development, stating that it reflects a growing trend towards the documentation and formalization of the national economy.
