HEC Announces Double and Joint Degree Programs for Pakistani Students
In a major policy shift, HEC has approved double and joint degree programs, allowing students to pursue two different academic degrees simultaneously and fostering international university collaborations.
ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن (ایچ ای سی) نے ملک بھر کے طلبہ کے لیے ایک بڑی خوشخبری سناتے ہوئے بیک وقت دو ڈگریاں حاصل کرنے کی اجازت دینے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ اس نئے فیصلے کے تحت اب طلبہ ڈبل اور جوائنٹ ڈگری پروگرامز میں بیک وقت داخلہ لے سکیں گے۔
نئی پالیسی کی تفصیلات کے مطابق، طلبہ کے لیے یہ ضروری نہیں ہوگا کہ وہ دونوں پروگرامز ایک ہی شعبے سے منتخب کریں؛ وہ مختلف مضامین میں ایک ساتھ تعلیم جاری رکھ کر اپنی صلاحیتوں میں اضافہ کر سکیں گے۔
ایچ ای سی نے یہ بھی واضح کیا ہے کہ اب پاکستانی جامعات دیگر ملکی اور غیر ملکی تعلیمی اداروں کے ساتھ مل کر جوائنٹ ڈگری پروگرامز بھی شروع کر سکیں گی۔ اس اقدام کا مقصد پاکستان کے اعلیٰ تعلیمی نظام کو عالمی معیار کے مطابق ڈھالنا اور بین الاقوامی سطح پر تعلیمی اشتراک کو بڑھانا ہے۔
English Translation
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has taken a significant step toward academic flexibility by approving the introduction of double and joint degree programs in Pakistan. This policy will allow students to enroll in two different degree programs simultaneously.
According to the new framework, students will have the liberty to choose programs from different departments or faculties, enabling them to gain expertise in diverse academic disciplines at the same time.
In addition to double degrees, HEC has authorized joint degree programs, which will empower Pakistani universities to collaborate with both local and international educational institutions. This initiative aims to modernize the higher education system, align it with global standards, and foster international academic cooperation.
